Tenerife
The journey began on the night of June 22nd. on the 23.06 2017. Ferries and pension were already booked at home. We drove the first stage from Eching (Bavaria) via the A9 towards Munich, then onto the A99 via the A8 to Rosenheim, then onto the A93 to Kufstein, further on the A12 (Austria) to Innsbruck via the Brenner Autobahn to Savona. There waiting for the ferry. Should cast off at 6:00 p.m. Then cast off at about 1:00 a.m. in the night. Then the second stage began, which began and ended with stress.
The ferry ride to Barcelona was only supposed to take 17 hours, so we didn't book a cabin and instead took the Pullman seats.
Which, as it turned out, wasn't that good. The ferry was mainly occupied by Moroccans. So sleeping was out of the question. The crew had trouble getting it under control to some extent, which was very difficult. Until then, don't think about sleep. The ferry then laid on 24.06. in the evening around 7:30 p.m. When we wanted to exit, the first trucks were already in the lane of the exit. The crew then had to look for the driver. After 1.5 hours we were finally able to get off the ferry and then made our way from Barcelona to Cadiz. After 43 hours without sleep, a sec came over me. Sleep. I was startled by a rustling. When I opened my eyes all I could see on the driver's side was bushes. Luckily it was only a hedge that was in front of the guard rail, then took the next exit, stopped at a gas station and looked at the car. Except for a few hedge leaves in the grill, there wasn't a scratch, nothing had happened to us except the shock in our bones. After a little more than 10 hours we arrived in Cadiz at noon, we had to park the car in a public parking garage. From there we walked about 5 minutes with hand luggage to Pension Espana. Registered there, entered the room, then slept until the next day. The guesthouse was booked for three nights, but since the ferry was so late, it was only two nights. Cadiz is a beautiful old town with many sights. The fourth stage began on June 27th, 2017, the ferry was supposed to depart at 5:00 p.m. and the Albayzin ferry started half an hour late. It went from Cadiz to the island of Lanzarote, Furteventura, Gran Canaria and on to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. After 49 hours we arrived punctually and relaxed in our new home without any incidents. I highly recommend this ferry. Now the last small stage of 40 km then we were in our new home the Finca Santa Lucia.
